Gif or Jif?

One of the assignments from the section “Animated GIF Assignment” for this week was to create 4-5 gifs (btw, how do you pronounce this?) of your favorite TV show. Of course, I had to choose the most dramatic show on television; The Bachelor! My favorite part of each season is the first episode where the girls try to outdo one another with their memorable entrances. Below I have included some of my favorite entrances in gif form!

*for some reason I am unable to embed gifs into my posts, so click on the link to see the gifs!*

Daily Dose of Creativity

I don’t think of myself as a creative person AT ALL. Here’s hoping that these Daily Create posts can help with that!

Week One Summary

This week was really challenging for me because I am not very tech-savvy. I could not get the website design how I wanted it for the life of me and it was driving me crazy trying to figure out how to work everything on WordPress. I know in hindsight it really wasn’t THAT hard, but for someone who sticks to Instagram and Facebook as a way of communicating with the internet, this was a huge challenge for me. I have a personal Twitter account but I never post anything, I only use it for memes and funny posts when I have nothing else to look at, so using that as a way of communicating for this class is definitely going to be interesting. SoundCloud was another site that I am not familiar with and figuring out how to record media on my laptop and upload it was also hard for me to do. I had to research what kind of programs my laptop had in order for me to figure out how to record audio only and upload it. I feel like this week was just as challenging as I thought it would be, and I was actually really nervous I wouldn’t be able to do it. But throughout the week I learned how to use the software (I think) and surprised myself when I was able to create my own website that actually functions properly. I really enjoyed designing the website and I even showed it off to a few of my friends because I think it was a huge accomplishment for me. I am definitely nervous about the rest of this semester but I am excited for the challenge! Below are links to my posts from this week:

What’s Our Story?

I personally really like this theme. I think it is important to understand the obstacles that each of us have overcome to be where we are today. Our struggles have made us who we are today and we should be proud of who we are and where we are in our lives. Personally, I have had to overcome a lot in my life to be successful (especially in college). For the direction of the theme for the class, I think it would be fun to discuss different aspects of our lives, what is a significant impact someone/something has had on us, and where we see ourselves going after college. I would love to read blogs about each students life in school before college and fun memories each student has. Pictures posted via Instagram / Twitter or videos posted to YouTube of younger versions of ourselves would be so intriguing to see, and I think it would be fun to compare our younger selves to ourselves now.

I also think discussing something that we are passionate about would give some insight into who we are as a person. You can learn a lot about someone based on their interests. I would love to learn about a new interest or hobby that I haven’t discovered, and I think that learning why someone is passionate about something can spark passion in others.
